Cute bag but zipper tarnished

I have used and traveled with this cross-body bag for 5 months and like the size and have received many compliments. However, I find the outside picks up stains and watermarks, and the gold tone of the zipper has tarnished to black on some of the teeth (or gold tone flaked off?). Not durable for the price paid in my mind.
